To top the list we welcomed home a second child, I finally graduate college with an Accounting Degree, refinished the flooring in my house, and on and on. It is hard to sum up all the personal accomplishments and failures from the span of a year. Many people are able to write and describe every little detail of their lives, but i chose not to bore you. My hopes are to describe how i have been encouraged by all the life changes.
Recently, my pastor completed a series on Dreaming God's Dream and i have never seen such rippling in the water. I have noticed how people were encourage to search deep in their hearts to look for God's dream for them. I hope they found what they were looking for or at least starting on the journey God has intended for them to travel to find that Dream. In the Bible, God says He wants us to ask Him for everything. I have asked God for His dream for me. In my venture to discover His dreams for me, I hope to learn to hear His voice more and more. If hearing His voice is all the dreams that He has for me, then its worth it. God is good to all who have called out to Him. There is a song by a newer band, BlueTree called Life's Noises. In this song are the following lyrics:

He wasn't in the fire He wasn't in the quake

He wasn't in the wind He's in a whisper

He wasn't in the fire He wasn't in the quake

He wasn't in the wind He's in a whisper
He is in the whisper. The hardest part of hearing him is SHUTTING UP! So, pray for me as i ask God to clear my mind from moving a million miles an hour all the time, to stop and hear His voice.
~Jon

Sitting on the Frontier

Okay folks. It's no secret here. Jon has officially left the building.

And, instead of closing the door behind him, he has given his wife administrator rights. Let it be known that I have no part in this. I simply woke up one day and I was the "proud" owner of a second blog. Sadly, neither are too full of life.

So, Jon's blog has just been sitting here. That's not to imply that JON has just been sitting anywhere. Nope, not a chance. He's at work, he's moving, painting, putting on training wheels, he's in school. We're both finding more to accomplish than the time before us. But, we know that's normal and I'm certain you feel the same way.

I suppose that's why I'm so ever-impressed with bloggers posting with any sort of consistency. How is it that their lives have been formatted to allow time for reflection? How can they but have a few days of silence in the blogging world? I'm being rhetorical of course, but in the back of my mind it still amazes me.

So... if one day this blog is gone, it's because Jon's still living life. He's just decided it's not the right time for trying to write about it. He might just decide that's something I could/should do, and maybe for the both of us. Perhaps his role is in getting pictures of the fam taken and posted. I'm quite certain he'll make it there before I will.

Finally, I'm Back

So, it has been a while since my last post, but i am hoping this will fill the need to let it all out. The thing is, i should be doing homework ~but i am on protest. I am a little burnt out from these last couple of classes that it is hard to finish. Although, in one class the professor sent out the final and forgot to erase the answers, -- Free "A". (Am i suppose to feel guilty?~ Naught!)
The last thing i have to finish is a 3-5 page paper on "something that you enjoy (it can be work related or a hobby), explain the statistics behind it and why it is important to have these. Be creative and have some fun, explain why the the stats are important and what advantages the stats have done for the subject?" Any suggestions??? I believe i am going to write on living healthy, working out, running..... something. Anyway, i will get it done.

Side note: Online Stats class is terrible. I don't recommend it to anyone!

Here is a site i would like to share with everyone:

http://www.seeqpod.com

Here Is Another ONE!!!!

Admittedly, I've been missing out because of the priorities I alone have set. This "thing" is my time with God. Life have been so busy lately. Between my crazy weekend schedule at work and Ashley's monster-load of 8 college courses (17 hrs), things have been much less than ideal. Although my work schedule may not change, I'm grateful the semester will soon be over. I would love to spend at least one night a week away from everyone by myself with God and a great cup of coffee. Oh---the ways God helps life make more sense! He does love me. And He is the only one who has been able to bring me true peace and tidbits of sanity!

On a Side Note: Next Tuesday I will be taking part in a "Coleman Sleeping Bag Discussion Group!" I'm pretty excited to be involved in this "discussion". Despite the fact that I am clueless as to how they got my name, I am officially invited. By participating in this discussion group, I have to sign the "Official Participations Agreement and Release Form." These are the basics: if you give us a great idea, Coleman now owns it, thank you… everything is confidential and cannot be discussed elsewhere---la-di-da….. But Section 2b interested me the most: "I am aware that I will be engaging in a focus group that might result in serious injury, including permanent disability or death and severe social and economic losses"…… hmmm… serious injury from a discussion group? I'm not quite sure what to make of this, but...Sign me Up!!!

Finally, some headway

Well, i have been waiting to post. Nothing against the world or anything but i have been going through a lot of changes.

First of all, my wife and i finally (after many months of asking) followed through on our first "Master Cleanse". A master cleanse is a 10 day event full of lemonade, Grade B maple syrup, and cayenne "red pepper". Yes, i said lemonade, Grade B maple syrup, and cayenne "red pepper". Believe it or not this is all we had to eat for 10 whole days. Afterwards, we felt great. It may not seem like we would feel that great for not eating for 10 days, but most of the bad toxins i have been building up in my body over the years are mostly cleaned out now. I can really fell the difference. I got to the point that i didn't know how to interact with food, but after a while i remembered..... Hopefully, i wont fall back in to the same rut i was stuck in before. My goal for the beginning of next year, i am going convince my pastor to join me in another Master Cleanse. Hopefully, he'll join me.

Secondly, My adventure in keeps getting more and more interesting. Meaning, Ashley and i have officially stepped back as Directors of the Student Ministry at Live Oaks Community Church. This has been a working in progress since March when Ashley prayed for another couple to work together in ministry. To be honest, we have a lot of peace about where God is taking us. We now will have more room in our schedules to finally finish school.
Life is hard with children, but children help make life more interesting-- which is the way i like it! ;^) Since this change in our lives, i have seen God move me out of one role in leadership and place me in another. I have become more of a leader at my job. Praise God -- i give Him all the glory. Amen.

Rough Week

This week has been really rough. My wife and daughter have been both sick. My daughter seems to be doing better, but Ashley, my wife, will be on her way to the Minor Emergency room because she is still coughing, shortness of breath, and she feels light-headed. Please pray for her.

Twice this week i had to jet out of work to go home and help Ashley. I praise God that my boss let me leave to take care of my family.

Plus my mother-in-law had a kidney biopsy, so she is out of commission for a while.

Like i asked before, please be praying for my family. thanks

Finally, i know i haven't kept everyone updated on my getting in shape journey, but give me a week or so for things to calm down.

I cant help it, It was my Birthday

Believe it or not, i turned 26 years old this week. I didn't celebrate very big. I pretty much went to work and had Youth that night, but the best part of my day were all the phone calls i received to wish me Happy Birthday. So thank you for everyone who called, you all really made my day.

Back to business. Just like noted in the title, i can't help it, it was my birthday. What i mean is I did not hold back celebrating at every meal. In other words, i have even more work to get back in shape. Before, i worked hard to run at least three - four mile, three times a week, but now my running has subsided to a couple meager 1 -1.5 mile jaunts. I'll get it back, i just need a little encouragement!!! :^)

One more thought for the day: Does any one ready http://arbitrarydiscursions.blogspot.com/ ?
This is my wife's blog. From vendors buying me steak dinners and eating out with friends, i definitely stalled my hike to the prize of my choosing. First, of course to look great for Ashley and secondly, to get the shoes of my dreams. I have never really ever desired a pair of shoes like i do those Teva. I have been on this adventure to loss 25 -40 lbs since January 2007. I have found that i can finally stall my weight without gaining or losing more than 10 lbs at a time. At work i have finally convinced my boss that he needed to work out with me to loss 30 lbs. We have set our guidelines to working out at least 5 days a week in the mornings at 6 am.

But what i am most excited about is nothing more than a pair of shoes. These shoes, for some reason, caught my eye and i am holding out until i reach my goal. I know this sounds completely ridiculous, but hopefully it works.

I will keep you updated. Our work outs start on Monday, Aug 13Th.

Energy for you, better mood for me

ahhh..... Sugar Free RockSt*r. If you happen to know what i am talking about, please raise your hand. The happiness i feel after drinking a Rockstar is amazing. My wife tells me it is the B-vitamins that fill the lovely 16 oz can of heaven. Well, not heaven, but i do feel better afterwards. In fact, just last week i was really grumpy and finally broke down and bought a Rockstar. Within minutes of quenching my thirst for this drink, i was much more merry. i felt so good, those around me couldn't stand it. Of course, not everyone gives me the common courtesy to let me know if i am being annoying, but i was in a way better mood.

The only down side in consuming this beverage is the fact that it is so addictive. I cannot get away from it. No other energy drink can make a stand as a viable contender.

Today, the local filling station was giving away free products under their own label. Of course, free means sold. I opened the cooler and seized my free sample, but also gathered my own drink of preference, the wonderful Rockstar. After taking a moment to examine the differences between these two products, i tried the free sample........... and tossed it into the nearest garbage can! It was TERRIBLE!

I retreated back to my glorious Rockst*r. So, now those B-vitamin are pulsating through my veins, and I'm blissfully typing away. The frontier is similar, but more down to earth. When the first Americans began to move west, they searched the frontier. I love to hike and see what few others are unable too, and tell stories about the places I’ve been.
Secondly, I apologize for my writing abilities. I try, but I am a far reach from my wife who is an English Ed. Major at Wichita State University. Something great that I have been gathering from his book is this: Life did not start the moment I was born, but I am only a few mere pages of the whole story that has been in writing all along. I mention this, not because I want to write about this book, but I want to share my journey. I really don’t know if any will ever read my blog, but if feel the need to share. We, the people of today, only hold a few pages this “Epic” that is underway. I just want to better understand my role on those few pages.
